hi, I have been in new website lately. The problem is that ticket number, or image in the box that shows numbers or leters you must type in. But how can jfw read these, ir is any program that can at least convert them to text or something? because I am really getting tired of getting or asking for sighted asistance.

Basically, there's nothing you can do. Sorry. Some sites (Livejournal, hotmail? paypal), have audio tests you can take. Otherwise, sighted assistance is your best bet.

I hate those things. I usually just get someone to help me.

Yeah, I'm fraid the answer is that it will not work. The worst part is, that the sites that do give audio files to accompany those graphics are almost imposible to understand. I had to use some noise filtering with cool edit to be able to understand some of them, but others, like hotmail, u can forget it.

Hi,

When I got my MS Passport, I had to listen to the audio four times before getting it right, and I think my hearing's pretty good. I suppose, though, if MS were to use the phonetic alphabet for the sudio, that would defeet the purpose? Haha. And then, there's Yahoo. They don't even attempt to offer an audio alternative, nor do they ever make the promised contact with me. Guess I'll just adk my husband 's help next time; it's quick and easy...

Yeah, it's just a shame that you have to do that. I guess next time I use hotmail's audio thing, I'll just have to up the bitrate from the 2kbps it is set at and see if that helps.

For those who have some sight like me, they've taken a step in the right direction. The last code breaking thingy like that I filled out was black with white letters and gray fuzzy stuff while the old ones were white with black lettering and darker fuzzy stuff. I've seemed to notice a lot of those links that say "I can't see this picture" so maybe they're improving.
